Elvira, Mistress of the Dark is one of the most underrated films ever. It has a tight structure that works excellently, good dialogues and the film is clever and amusing. All this without being obvious or pretentious.
The film has a strong story line and it is an example of good foreshadowing techniques, which makes a film critic quiver with delight and a general viewer enjoy a great easy-to-follow film. The film incorporates a variety of different genres including horror, parody and comedy, and this mixture ensures a great film experience for all. All above 13 years of age, that is. There are a number of profanities in the film but they are all used in relatively good taste and without excess - they are all there for a reason. It is packed with jokes of all kinds, so you might still find new ones after watching it several times, which you probably will.
