The Night of the Hunter

The Night of the Hunter is an outstanding horror film that will send a chill down your spine. It never shows violence or blood directly, which only adds to its power.

It is a beautiful-looking film with an unpredictable plot, excellent use of camera angles and lighting, music and foreshadowing that all together create a disturbing and terrifying story. You don't need to be a lover of horror films to enjoy this one, because The Night of the Hunter works in such subtle ways, and it doesn't drain you emotionally like some more modern horror films.

Although this film deals with several disturbing topics, the fact that there are no graphic images makes it suitable even for slightly younger viewers than the topic might suggest. It's not suitable for small children, but more resilient 10-year-olds should be able to handle it.

The Night of the Hunter is a captivating horror film and a true classic that has all a good film should have.
